Why it works

Male-pattern hair loss is driven by DHT

In male-pattern hair loss, a hormone called DHT gradually shrinks hair follicles until they stop producing visible hair. Finasteride lowers DHT to slow that process; minoxidil increases blood flow to the follicle and extends the growth phase. Used together, they tackle the problem from both sides — and they work best before a follicle is gone for good.

I'd been putting off doing anything about my hair for years. This made it embarrassingly easy.

Questions

Hair FAQ

How long until I see results?
Hair treatments are slow by nature. Many people need three to six months of consistent use before they notice a difference, and treatment generally needs to continue to maintain results. Your provider will set expectations.
Are the sexual side effects of finasteride real?
A small percentage of men report sexual side effects with finasteride. They're usually reversible if you stop, but they're worth understanding before you start — the health visit includes counseling on this, and you can decline finasteride and use minoxidil alone.
Can women use these treatments?
Finasteride is not for use by women who are or may become pregnant, and pregnant women should not handle crushed or broken tablets. Topical minoxidil has separate formulations. This line is built for male-pattern hair loss; talk to a provider about what's appropriate for you.
What if I stop?
Hair loss generally resumes if you stop treatment, because the underlying cause is still there. That's normal and your provider will explain it up front.
